A longtime citizen of Bogalusa, Louisiana, William (Bill) Arata holds a bachelor of arts in political science from Centenary College in Shreveport and a juris doctor from the Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge. While working toward his JD, Bill Arata joined the Southern University chapter of the international, co-ed, law fraternity Phi Alpha Delta.
Mr. Arata started working at his father’s Bogalusa law firm in 1995 and has been working there ever since. A plaintiff-oriented practice, the Arata Law Office primarily represents clients who have suffered injuries as a result of an automobile wreck or a workplace accident. As the firm’s current owner, Mr. Arata endeavors to defend his clients’ rights, settling disputes with insurance companies and other defendants through mediation and/or litigation.
Outside of the professional arena, Mr. Arata has engaged in a number of political activities, attending the 1984 presidential conventions of both the Republican and Democratic parties. In 1992, he managed the Louisiana campaign of U.S. presidential candidate Ross Perot.
