Bill Dance, a native Virginian, developed a passion for the arts at an early age and began studying dance at the age of three. After graduating high school, he travelled to Los Angeles where he attended the prestigious UCLA Theatre Arts Department. After graduating cum laude with a B. A. in Theatre Arts, Mr. Dance then enjoyed an accomplished performing career as an actor, singer, and dancer. One of the highlights of his career was working with Gene Kelly in the Broadway show Gene Kelly’s-A Salute to Broadway in which Mr. Dance co-starred. Mr. Kelly sent him a telegram opening night saying “Bill…Dance…Dance…Dance-Gene Kelly.”

After a successful performing career, Mr. Dance began working as a casting director. He now owns and operates the premier casting company Bill Dance Casting, dedicated to quality and realism. He has considerable experience in the motion picture industry, having worked on more than 200 films. Throughout his career, Mr. Dance has worked with many of the film industry’s most respected directors, producers, and actors. The impressive list includes Ron Howard, Joel Schumacher, James L. Brooks, Cameron Crowe, David Fincher, Gary Marshall, Tom Hanks, Tom Cruise, Russell Crowe, Julia Roberts, Brian Grazer, Tim Burton, Herbert Ross, Robert Altman, Francis Ford Coppola, Stephens Fears, Ken Russell, and Oliver Stone.

As a casting director, Mr. Dance has worked on such prestigious films as Alice in Wonderland, Angels & Demons, Frost/Nixon, and the Academy Award® winner A Beautiful Mind. Other films include Hangover 2, The Truman Show, Jerry Maguire, When a Man Loves a Woman, Indecent Proposal, Far and Away, and Steel Magnolias. TV credits include Mad Men and Deadwood.

He wrote and performed his one man show Mind Games to sold-out audiences in Los Angeles. As a singer, he also performed his nightclub act Back by Popular Demand at LA’s in spot The Gardenia. Most recently, Mr. Dance has completed his first book Moments…Madness…Motivations.

Mr. Dance also travels giving seminars and master classes to actors, both beginners and professionals, teaching them how to breathe life into words through the art of storytelling.
