Well, you may know I’m in Marketing. And you may know I love soccer. And here’s a chance for me to talk about both!

Soccer isn’t all that popular a sport in America—but it is very popular in Europe. And check out who is the most powerful SPORTS brand in the world--Manchester United—reigning Barclay’s Premier League Champion. And to boot, they are the 6 most powerful OVERALL brand in the world.

And this is old news, but the US Women’s Soccer Team ‘only’ took silver in the World Cup. But read how they handled themselves after the somewhat unexpected loss. Talk about helping the brand of Women’s soccer and sporstmanship.A great example for children around the world. Oh—and #marrymehope. Read more about the above items at:

Sidenote: Sorry—but this is my ‘’ web site, so I have to make it a little more personal. I’ve played soccer since I was five until I retired about 4 years ago (knees and ankles were giving out on me). And I miss the game. So some of my boys pulled me out of retirement to play some indoor this fall. I don’t understand how breathing has all the sudden become so difficult-ha! And boy—am I sore! Update--5 games into the season, I tore my calf muscle--just like last year. Out for the season. And I may have to re-retire!

And a personal philosophy of mine, from this anonymous quote: "Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, WOW!!! What a ride!"
