William Levy Co-Founder & Sr. Advisor for the General Partner, IGF Investment Grade Funds I, LP. Mr. Levy has more than 40 years experience in real estate investment and finance. He has directed, entitled and invested more than $10 Billion in commercial real estate projects across the country. He has worked in conjunction with local, state and federal governments to joint venture and develop mixed use regional malls in downtown re-development markets. These projects reinvigorated many neglected downtown areas throughout America. Levy's programs became the prototypes for many future retail re-vitalization projects, and have won numerous awards for development and design.
Mr. Levy was the Founder and Chairman of the Board for two public companies; Santa Barbara County Bank, with assets exceeding $1 Billion, which pioneered the origination, packaging and selling mortgage/backed loan securities to institutional and private investors. American Restaurants, Inc., which owned and operated over 300 fast-service, and dinner house restaurants throughout the United States. In those roles, he developed management strategies and worked with major Wall Street investment firms and commercial banks to secure the necessary equity capital and debt financing.
Levy graduated from Santa Barbara City College, where he earned a degree in business finance, and later attended the UCLA Graduate Program, where he studied Real Estate and Business Management. In recognition of his contribution to the business community at large, the Chamber of Commerce, twice, named Mr. Levy, "Business Leader of the Year" and "Most Influential Business Person" several times. In addition, he was nominated to the Santa Barbara Athletic Hall of Fame and was awarded the Presidents Cup for the National Circle of Cities.
