An entrepreneur, Billy Blatty recently established Barcadia New Orleans, a bar that Gambit and Where Y’at Magazine named The Best New Bar in the City for 2013. Before beginning his business career, he studied at Tulane University in New Orleans, where he graduated cum laude with a BS in psychology and pre-medicine. As a college student, Billy Blatty played on the school’s football team and supported himself by working in the local nightlife sector, serving in positions ranging from short-order cook to manager.
Billy Blatty’s early work experience helped him to learn every facet of the nightlife industry. He later applied this knowledge by starting his own event promotion and production company called Fat Black Pussy Cat, a business still in operation today. Building on his early achievements, Mr. Blatty moved into the nightclub sector first by securing an ownership interest in Club Ampersand and then by taking over the club and growing its popularity. Later, he opened the Ohm Lounge in New Orleans and 3 bars in Dallas / Fort Worth, Texas.
