My career in engineering spanned over 15 years. The early part was spent working with process engineers, developing specialist automated machinery and working with various facilities managers carrying out maintenance schedules to their differing requirements.
For 12 years I was a site foreman working on construction projects throughout the country. I was hands on in my approach to this role and always led by example. My responsibilities included H&S, attending site meetings, carrying out site surveys for the preparation of fabrication drawings, preparing method statements / S.P.A.’s while ensuring the quality of the work was upheld and deadlines were met.
The projects included retail, pharmaceutical, medical, residential, educational, marine, transport and civic.
Walter Gropius said “Architecture begins where engineering ends” and so is the course of my career. With the downturn in the construction sector in 2010 I took the opportunity to further my education attaining a BSc in Architectural Technology, with distinction, from I.T. Carlow. At present I am finishing a BSc (Hons) in Architectural and BIM Technology in W.I.T.
I am self-motivated, reliable individual with a wealth of experience in site instillation and problem solving. I am versed in both Engineering and Architecture and would be an asset to any employer. Feel free to contact me via email or LinkedIn.
