I have 11 years of experience in the IT Industry. I have worked 8+ years in software testing and 2+ years in software development. I have worked across multiple profiles but I always count myself as software tester. I have a bachelor's degree in commerce, masters degree in computer science and a 3 year Diploma in various software technologies. I joined my first job as a software trainee in 2003 and got a confirmed job in 2004.
I worked both as a software tester and as a software developer during my training duration. I wanted to be confirmed as a software tester but I got my confirmed job as a software developer. I worked for 2+ years as a developer and was good in front-end development and database (Oracle & SQL).
I got back into software testing when a number of testers were getting hired in year 2007. I worked on various software product implementation in the company. Most customers were from USA. I used Bugzilla as bug tracking tool. Linux OS for deploying build for projects. Jboss as application server and programming was done on Java technologies. Used Load Runner tool for performance testing and Silktest tool for automation tests. Almost all types of BBST techniques were used.
My interaction with Apps, eReaders , Mobile devices and digital products started in year 2010 when I worked as part of outsourced team for one of the world's largest publishing company. During this duration, I passed my Scrum Master (CSM) certification and worked on many Agile projects. I also passed my advanced level ISTQB certification in software testing. I also worked on Selenium webdriver to automate tests.
I changed my Job after 10 years and joined a company where my tenure lasted only for 6 months. Currently working in a small sized IT company as a software tester (leader and manager). I also write technical blogs. I contribute to testing community. I will launch my site on my interaction with testing and technology very soon. I am active on my twitter handle @binnythetester
