Birmingham Alabama Business Association Volunteers

The Birmingham Alabama Business Association has existed since 1971 when businesses in the city saw the need to have an association that represents their interests. There was a need to find a new market for products, and customers were also looking for trusted businesses where they could get quality products and services at affordable prices. As a result, the association was born. Today, it boasts a total of 12, 000 members and employees 30 employees who are on the organization’s payroll.

The business association is responsible for promoting investment opportunities in Birmingham city. Besides linking businesses with customers or with other businesses, the association coordinates the various stakeholders of the city and even county, including sponsors and community leaders from Birmingham and the wider Jefferson County where the organization is headquartered.

The Birmingham Alabama Business Association recognizes the input and invaluable contribution of these brave individuals and would like to encourage more people to volunteer to make Birmingham a great place to conduct business.

Roles and Responsibilities of Volunteers

Volunteers are charged with several responsibilities, including:

1. Soliciting new members. New members are always welcome because the organization can never get enough of volunteers and their invaluable contribution.

2. Welcome new members. As soon as they have identified the potential volunteers, holders of this position are expected to bring them to the organization and make them feel comfortable by introducing them to the other volunteers and members of the organization. They shall also be informed of the organization’s values, vision, culture, and mission.

3. Training. Once the new members are comfortable, they shall be trained on-the-job to equip them with the skills necessary to carry out their duties as assigned. Every new member shall be informed of his or her roles and responsibilities.
