Work history

Began working at the age of 19 in Manila, Philippines where I landed a position with a major hotel. I then applied for an overseas job and was accepted as a waiter at one of the hotels in Saipan, CNMI; where I gained the necessary training, tools and exposure which afforded me numerous advancements in the Hospitality Industry leading to my position as Reservation Manager at the same hotel.

My wife got transferred to Guam through an employment visa program and became her dependent. While waiting for my working visa, I constantly watched TV shows having to do with homes and home improvements and before I knew it, I found myself engaged in the programs. They became a huge influence and I asked myself…what if?” I then learned that classes were being offered for those interested in a real estate career. I took a great leap of faith and challenged myself. I studied, took the exam and passed with flying colors… the rest is history!

Biggest challenges

As in any industry, the biggest challenge I faced was whether or not I can properly fit and enjoy a career as a Realtor, considering that I came from a totally different background. However, armed with my drive, eagerness and determination, I took the risk as I had nothing to lose and everything to gain. I told myself that I can realize my dream of purchasing a home for my family through my involvement in real estate, then the risk is well worth it. I gradually was exposed to and learned the different facets within the real estate industry and realized I really do fit in. As they say “no pain, no gain!” Once you equip yourself with passion, perseverance, hard work, determination and diligence in anything you pursue, there is nothing you cannot achieve.

Piece of advice

“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step!” If you feel you have what it takes…go for it! Enjoy the fruits of your labor as it will only lead you to a multitude of harvests. You will never know until you take that first step, every day is a learning process in the real estate profession and the rewards are bountiful. “Dreams do come true!” Whether you’re a Buyer or a Seller, the process is tedious. However, there are Realtors around who will provide you with the guidance and the assistance in every step of your journey.
