Producing major retrospective on Black American cinema from its inception in 1910 to the present. Celebrating over 100 years of Black American filmmaking, FADE2BLACK: A RETROSPECTIVE, Black American Film 1910 - the Present, picks up that initial thread cast in 1910 by Peter P. Jones to Oscar Micheaux, et al, traveling that road to the brilliant tapestry of Black American cinema we have today -1910 to the present. From Oscar Micheaux to Julie Dash, Tyler Perry, Neema Barnette and others with as many stops as possible along the way. Premier October 19-23,2016 in Cincinnati, OH, F2B is education-based at Xavier University, with a growing Community Partners list including the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, the Cincinnati Herald, the University of Cincinnati and more. Bi-annually, Cincinnati - the Queen City, hosts over 5 days, F2B screening 50+ films representative of each era including many breakout sessions, panels, tributes & feature presentations.
