In 1979 who knew the next millennium’s voice of the streets was born on the Southside of Chicago. Black Kadafi is a rap artist that loves to write and be creative, no box can contain him, barely this world can hold him down, and making gravity is barely relevant.
At the age of 13 he began writing and performing for the locals gaining royal followers as soon as he found his creative voice to take the crown of street King. In order to learn the ropes from the inside out, he attended Columbia College with a focus in Music Business for 3 years. Then in 1999 under his former alias “Black Majik”, he joined S.A.W Soidierz at War, a group well known for wearing orange and black colors and our hardcore military style. The group’s debut album sold more than 100,000 copies on the street and in stores in Chicago alone.
They dropped 4 albums featuring artists' such as Chuck "D" of Public Enemy and Big Ed (RIP) of No Limit Records, both featured on their debut album. Other talented artist from the Chi featured on their second album included; Do or Die, Crucial Conflict, Triple Darkness, Newsence of Psychodrama, to name a few. Although in 2002, for both business/personal reasons Black Kadafi decided to strike out on his own: once again writing lyrics merged with hot and catchy tracks.
And since 2007 he has headlined at major venues such as The Congress Theater, Adriana’s, The Zone, and Exodus II. Now, as CEO of Do4Self Records he has taken the crown as the representative of those on the grind, and fight to be want they want to be and get out of life what they have earned. A Notion that Everyone that Wants More Out of Life Can Relate… Do 4 Self
