Nitin Menon
music composer in London, UK
Hello there! Thank you for visiting my page. My name is Nitin Menon (aka blahman music) and I’m a music composer. I’ve professionally been involved in composing music since 2011 and have composed songs for multiple films, both feature & short films.
In January 2018, I composed 3 songs (Ajnabi, Ghayal, & Bhaag) and the opening credits and contributed to the background scoring for Samir Soni's directorial debut, My Birthday Song, starring Sanjay Suri & Nora Fatehi. In November 2018, I was involved in a short film directed by Ajay Govind, "Love, bites" which was released on YouTube through Pocket Films. The film has to date 1m+ views and stars Harleen Sethi (Broken But Beautiful) & Satyajeet Dubey (Kerry on Kutton, Toilet - Ek Prem Katha). I composed the entire background score as well as 2 songs (Khwaahish & Khwaab) for the film for the ~20 min film.
In 2014, I was involved in Ajay Govind's filmdirectorial debut, "After the third bell", which got a limited release in PVR across major cities. I composed and performed on 1 song (Temporary Sach).
In addition, I've been involved in composing background scores for a few other short films such as "Thereby Hangs a Tale", an anti-ragging film that captures first-hand accounts of ragging, & "At the Other End", a short film exploring themes of love & insecurity.
I’m a self-taught musician and I prefer experimenting with different sounds and styles. That helps me compose the “right” musical pieces and set the desired mood/s. I believe there’s no wrong way of composing or playing music.
The guitar is my preferred instrument for composing; I use it as a base to build compositions on. My musical influences vary from such artistes as Porcupine Tree, Radiohead, Pearl Jam, & Indian stalwarts like Vishal Bhardwaj and Amit Trivedi, to the film music compositions of Yann Tiersen, Clint Mansell, Trent Reznor/Atticus Ross, Henry Jackman among others.
Thanks for the support!
