Education, Communication, and Technology
Last year marked 37 years exploring and creating with students, teachers, and all kinds of professionals in education, media, and technology. My goal as educator and communicator focuses on helping people communicate their ideas.
My work includes: classroom teaching and curriculum development; media creation; managing organizational IT resources; marketing and communication projects; and designing and implementing professional development and conferences for employees, educators, and administrators.
I work effectively as an independent and with teams of professionals to support and manage large projects that engage individuals, organizations, and whole communities as they examine their systems of operation, forms of communication, and educational missions.
In 35+ years integrating technology with Bay Area educators and their schools I have also run a media center for educators in San Francisco, and served as Director of Technology at Marin Academy in San Rafael, CA and San Domenico School in San Anselmo, CA.
Early in my career, I served as Production Manager for the Bay Area office of a nationwide television and radio news retrieval company. In this position I managed a department with as many as 17 employees operating 20+ hours per day 365 days a year.
I've produced short and feature length documentaries, and specialize in tribute videos and family history media projects. I recently created two new blogs as a way to communicate my ideas on social justice and urban and sustainable farming.
I graduated from the University of California at San Diego in 1983, where I studied Communication, Political Science, Philosophy, and Film. In 2015 I completed my Social Science teaching credential and in 2018 I completed a Masters of Arts in Education at Alliant International University in San Francisco.
