Blessing Ewa is a passionate climate advocate and sustainability leader with over 7 years of experience driving youth and community empowerment, circular economy innovation, and climate action across Africa.
As the Founder and Executive Director of Young Advocates for a Sustainable and Inclusive Future (YASIF) Nigeria, she has led initiatives that have empowered more than 2,500 women and youths to take climate action, upcycled over 6 tonnes of plastic waste, and trained over 13,000 young people with digital and green skills to foster a just transition to a net-zero economy.
Under her leadership, YASIF’s pioneering approach to plastic circularity and volunteer leadership has gained recognition from leading global networks, including the World Economic Forum’s National Plastic Action Partnership (NPAP), the Plastic Pollution Coalition, and the Global Network of Volunteer Leaders (GNVL).
Blessing’s dedication to sustainability and community transformation has earned her numerous accolades, including the Oknah Lah Award in South Korea and the prestigious UK Chevening Scholarship.
She currently serves on the Board of Directors at CIVICUS, a global alliance of over 15,000 members in 180 countries, and SheInternet, a pan-African organization advancing women’s empowerment through digital inclusion.
Blessing holds an MSc in Sustainability: Climate Change and Transition to a Net Zero Economy from the University of Dundee, Scotland, where her research explored rural solid waste management practices and their role in achieving net-zero targets across Sub-Saharan Africa.
