How I started
I started photography by chance after I got injured in a badminton tournament; I had a torn Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL). After my surgery in December 2008 my doctor advised me to have a 6-month break in my active life. Being home bound, my world began to slow down. I was constantly bored and my belly was getting stuffed so I thought of something I could do while recovering. And so that’s it, I met photography.
Developments
Being so much involved in sports I lived a fast-paced and competitive life. But photography slowed me down and made me learn to appreciate the things surrounding me - be it a simple flower, interesting pebble, frisky fly, appetizing food or a cozy sunset. It made me more optimistic about my views about life itself, that there is something more than the physical beauty of the things around us - I just have to feel and seize it!
In my 4 years doing photography as a hobby, I have been enthusiastic, passionate and pushing myself to the limits to improve my craft. I tried and experimented different fields like macro, fashion, boudoir, sports, wedding but my heart belongs to landscape and travel photography. I love to travel! I love discovering new things, about different cultures, people, food and places. My dedication and perseverance resulted in my works being featured in major newspapers and magazines like Digital Photography UK, Digital Photography Philippines, Manila Bulletin, Lonely Planet Philippines.
