Life Provides International day of peace
Artist in Johannesburg, South Africa
LIFE PROVIDES
a 20 minute short film about the transformation artists and the public can make with fruit trees, rocks and water as their tools. Through this bring awareness to nature and seasonal change and how it affects us all. It is aimed at the general public and potential tourist.
The gardener in Japan is an artist, not a horticulturalist. A Japanese garden is a strictly controlled garden in which the key elements of stone, water and plants are used to represent an ordered and restrained landscape.
The goal of this short film is to find such an empty field and create its design through its Blue2Black artists. A "Hi-jacking" of the park might be necessary to promote its agenda in calling out for such a garden. With the use of trees, water, rocks and grass the artistic paint, with the blossom of the trees a celebration of color.
THE LOCATION
Pretoria West High school has such a field with the potential as an aerial openness and availability as a canvas. Water will be pumped to the top center of just Bellow Nick Van Vuuren St, via a 1KW solar pump and allowed to flow freely back down to the river at Vom Hagen St, as well as used to irrigate the field, and supply its solar lighting. In the center the artwork will be surrounded with water, and overlook a stage to its east and a kid's play area to the west. The Kids play area enabling them to pick fruit from various heights. Rocks used as seats to encircle the stage. Trees used as shade from the sun, with its potential celebration of fruit. The remaining trees painted across the canvas of the park that illustrates and secondary aerial painting and design. With toilets supplied out of sight.
Production Plans
The production is underway for the 21st of September 2012, a very short interaction period with a lot to say in very little time. We have encountered some difficulties with sponsorship of some of the trees and solar material but nothing we wouldn't overcome:
'We need your help to make the production possible for the course of events to run as planned, since we lack financial support as Blue2Black is doing this as an voluntary community project, and it is therefore difficult to do the production without sponsorship.'
Our equipment and dedicated crew is available and ready, but the budget demands more. If you understand our situation, please contribute to our production and become part of it yourself. Knowing we will gladly mention your comp
