Qualification : B.Sc.(Engg.) in 1977 from Regional Engineering College, Kurukshetra

Service record : Working with Delhi Jal Board since 1978.

Experience : Got 36 years experience in development and maintenance of water supply infrastructure in the National capital.

Key achievements in the field of :

· Rationalized distribution of water supply across Delhi

· Metering for efficient water accounting

· Three Pilot Projects based on PPP Model to reduce NRW & convert intermittent supply into continuous (24 x 7) supply

· Augmentation of water resources in Delhi by commissioning of the CLC (Munak Canal) and recycling of waste water at the plants.

Presentresponsibility : Currently holding thecharge of Member (Drainage) responsible for the development of sewerage systemin Delhi.

Making the water tanking services more efficient and transparent was an assignment given to DJB and same was achieved successfully by Mr. B M Dhaul (Member) water, Delhi Jal Board.

Due to continued unplanned growth of Delhi city, there has been always a gap between the requirements and provisions of essential services. In the absence of piped water supply infrastructure particularly in unplanned and unauthorized areas, the requirement of water tankers has been on the rise. It provided private tanker operators to exploit the situation and the poor residents felt helpless. In the peak summer season the demand for the water tanker supply in the city multiplied manifolds and the gap between the demand and availability of water tanker service often led to local fights and agitations.

With great determination officers of Delhi Jal Board (DJB) under the leadership of Mr. B M Dhaul (Member) water, DJB crossed many hurdles to engage GPS fitted and stainless steel containers mounted water tankers. With constant pursuance, 414 new water tankers with GPS were engaged. An efficient mechanism was also developed with the help of Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System Ltd (DIMTS), to monitor the movement of these water tankers so that the residents are benefitted and the customer satisfaction level was enhanced.
Close monitoring resulted in optimum utilization of the water tanker service which was provided free of cost in water deficient areas across Delhi. It red
