I am currently a student at the University of Masshachusetts, Amherst. I am looking to major in both operations and information management and mathematics. While in school I have been able to pursue one of my passions, traveling. I spent my last semester abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina and had the best four months of my life. I learned so much about adapting to other cultures and was able to see some of the most amazing places in the world. The next opportunity that I find I plan on going back for as long as I can, or to anywhere else in the world I haven't seen yet. Before I die I plan on visiting all seven continents.
While I would love to make a career out of just traveling, I am looking to pursue my second passion. I want to make a difference with my own skill set. Ever since I was little I have always liked math the most in school. It made sense to me and I liked the challenge it presented to me, but I would see so many people struggling. At first I just enjoyed helping friends who needed it, but then I decided that I would really enjoy making this a career. Not only would I get to do what I love, but I also am given the opportunity to help the students I have in math as well as in life in general. Although teaching may play a minor role in a student's life, if I can even help boost one person's confidence in themself or be a supporting role to someone who needs it then I will be happy.
