Founded in 1966 by Fred Blackledge and Roy Musgrove, B&M Wood Products began as a small post mill specializing in high-quality fence posts made from dense, straight Southern Yellow Pine. With a peeling operation and a creosote retort for pressure treatment, the company laid the foundation for what would become a trusted name in the wood products industry.

In 1974, B&M Wood Products changed ownership, marking the beginning of steady growth and innovation. By introducing a ring-type debarker in 1978 and a pole peeler in 1984, we expanded our capabilities to include larger barn fence poles. As the industry evolved, so did we. In 1990, we launched our own tree harvesting crew, leveraging advanced technology to optimize production. In 2019, adapting to market changes, we transitioned to sourcing post and pole wood from the open market, ensuring a steady supply for our customers.

Today,B&M Wood Products continues its legacy of quality and efficiency. With an automatic grading system in place since 2000, we ensure precise measurement and grading of our fence posts, meeting the highest industry standards. Under the leadership of President James Stovall III and Vice President James “Jim” Stovall IV, along with our dedicated team, we remain committed to providing top-quality wood products while embracing innovation for the future.
