Consultant, Project Manager, and Fundraiser in Cartersville, Georgia

I am a consultant, project manager, and Fundraiser currently living in Cartersville, Georgia.

Upon graduation from college, I received an academic fellowship to studycivil servant leadership and public policy at the John Jay Institute (JJI). JJIaffordedme the luxury of several months’ reflection on the development of Westernsociety, political theory, the role of religion in contemporary political andsocial movements, urban planning, natural law jurisprudence, and just wartheories alongside fifteen other fellows from a variety of academic disciplinesand vocational backgrounds. JJI allowed me the opportunity to meet with influentialleaders across a range of sectors, including: U.S. Senators, policy experts, church and nonprofit leaders, social entrepreneurs, and well-respecteduniversity professors.

After JJI, I was a Research Fellow at theGeorgia Center for Opportunity (GCO). GCO is a non-partisan think tankdedicated to making Georgia a place where all have a chance to prosper byremoving barriers to opportunity. Most think tanks focus on policy development, whereas advocacyorganizations seek to educate and persuade, and nonprofit incubators supportearly stage social enterprises. At GCO I had the opportunity to be a part ofall three. Iplayed an active role in a variety of initiatives, including: the family andcommunity initiative, which was an effort to understand the reasons forGeorgia's fractured family structure and to initiate solutions to strengthenthe family; and a research project on health-care reform, which providedresearch and analysis on innovative state-based reforms that would providehealth care to hundreds of needy Georgians.

Currently, I am an associate research analyst and project manager at Calvin Edwards& Company (CEC), working closely with high net worth individuals, nonprofitleaders, foundation managers, and public institutions to maximize the effectiveimpact of mission-driven initiatives, programs, grants, and organizations. Idecided to work at CEC to better understand the role of philanthropy on publicpolicy and other social movements. During my time at CEC, I have worked withnonprofit leaders and high net worth individuals to create business plans andprospectus' to design and comprehensively describe a complex project in orderto communicate to potential partners, donors, or other internal or externalstakeholders.
