Bo Galvin
Amherst, Massachusetts, United States
Bo Galvin is from the town of Belmont, a small suburb minutes away from Boston. He is a Junior Marketing major at the University of Massachusetts – Amherst. He is also pursuing a certificate in Film, which is the equivalent of a film minor. Film, music and travel are among his main interests along with keeping a healthy lifestyle through exercise and clean eating.
Bo’s main passion is travelling and he was fortunate enough to begin travelling at an early age with his grandparents. He visited Caribbean islands with his sister and grandparents nearly every summer in his youth. This ultimately created the wanderlust that has been growing ever since he stepped foot on foreign soil. Bo first went to Europe with his mother in late high school when he went to Ireland for 10 days. That opened his mind to the endless possibilities life could offer and helped him perceive experiences in a way that he never imagined possible.
The most recent trip that Bo went on was a 3-week backpacking trip around Europe with some childhood friends in the summer of 2013. He knew that it was time to travel on his own dime, and began saving for this trip right out of high school. Through hard work and persistence he was able to create this opportunity to travel on his own will. Destinations included Switzerland, Czech Republic, Germany, Belgium and Spain. This opened his eyes to the charming transportation type that train travel provides. It greatly increased his drive to travel as much as possible.
In the future, Bo plans on finding a job that would enable him to be anywhere in the world at any given point in time. Although he is keeping his options open, his experience in blogging has given him the idea to become a freelance travel blogger if the finances could be raised to get to this level. He will continue to use hard work to support his passion and uses this drive in day-to-day activities to make himself a better person for himself and the people around him.
