Dr. Bobbie Legg’s clinical work focuses on the treatment of child and adolescent survivors of childhood trauma and abuse. Dr. Legg is the Director of Child Well-being for Beyond The Orphanage and has served as the Clinical Director for multiple residential treatment programs. She specializes in using advanced psychotherapy techniques for trauma recovery. Dr Legg’s international work has included working with trauma treatment for children and adolescents in South Asia, South America and Africa. Dr. Legg is a national and international speaker on trauma treatment, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, neurologically informed psychotherapy, attachment loss and suicide prevention. Domestically, Dr. Legg’s work has included living and working with indigenous communities and working with youth in foster care and families facing homelessness and adverse circumstances in American cities.

Dr. Bobbie Legg teaches in the Graduate School of Social Work at Arizona State University. Dr. Legg received Social Work degrees as a BSW, MSW, and PhD from Eastern Mennonite University, The Catholic University of America, and The Clinical Social Work Institute. Her training also includes completion of the Post-Graduate Trauma Treatment Program at the University of Maryland. Dr. Legg’s research includes an ethnographic study of adolescent online social networking profiles. In her free time, she loves seeking out opportunities to grow and explore. Her personal interests blend yoga, outdoor adventure, athletics, the creative arts and adventure travel.
