Thanks to A. A. Milne, as Winnie the Pooh once said, "I'm a bear of very little brain and long words bother me." But that doesn't stop me from being a passionate reader and bibliophile and enjoying everything from fiction to poetry, philosophy to biographies, cultural studies, history and anthropology, psychology to memoirs.

I enjoy tweeting on books, feminism, and sometimes movies, politics and, well, the world in general. In other words: a bit of this, a bit of that and always a big dollop of the other.

I never seem to write as much as I should or want to, but love it when I do, including everything from writing fiction, to book reviews for publishers, as well as copywriting and editing for clients.

More rarely than not (though I'm looking to change that - ahem), I blog, mostly on books and movies, at: http://www.bobbygw.com.

My most meaningful work has come from training and volunteering as a counsellor (especially for children and adolescents, though I have counselled adults with depression and life-coached a few adults to help them towards achieving their goals).

Not to sound like a lovey-dovey ad for dating but, besides wonderful friends and the pleasure of cultural pursuits, I enjoy long walks especially by the sea or in forests, swimming, hate BS of any kind, enjoy and respect intellectual, critical thinking and love a sense of humour.

My personal manifesto:

Positive change comes through taking a stand for oneself and for others. The journey towards a happier life - happier, not happy - is made easier by recognising and acting upon what's within your control (you only) and what's outside of it (everything else). Finding meaning in life is determined by the perspective you bring to bear on your experience.
