Dr. R.W. Bobby Martin

R.W. Bobby Martin, D.Ed.Min. began serving along side law enforcement agencies as a chaplain in 1997. Dr. Martin was a co-founder of the Carrollton Police Chaplaincy where he continues to volunteer. Additional chaplaincy service responsibilities were added in 2008 with other law enforcement agencies. He is also a member of the International Conference of Police Chaplains. He has been engaged in chaplaincy ministry since 1983, serving as a volunteer hospital chaplain at RHD Medical Center, Dallas, Texas, and expanding that role in 1986 to include Trinity Medical Center, Carrollton, Texas (now Baylor Hospital, Carrollton). From 2001 to 2010 Dr. Martin served on the Board of Directors for the DFW Airport Interfaith Chaplaincy. He has volunteered with the DFW Airport chaplains to support the military troops during their R & R deployments. Dr. Martin was a member of the International Association of Civil Airport Chaplains (2005-2009). In 2002 Dr. Martin was certified as a Victim Chaplain with Victim Chaplain and Counselor Association of America. As a Victim Chaplain, he was deployed by Victim Relief Ministries to the Columbia Space Shuttle disaster, Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Gustav and Ike. During the devastation of Hurricane Katrina Dr. Martin served in the 9th Ward of New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Dallas. In 2005 Victim Relief Ministries deployed Dr. Martin to provide chaplaincy assistance for DMORT (Disaster Mortuary Operational Response Team) In Baton Rouge. He has also volunteered as a chaplain with Texas Alliance of Raceway Ministries for the NASCAR events at Texas Motor Speedway. In 2011 Dr Martin received an additional Basic Police Chaplain Certification. Dr. Martin completed two degrees at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. He received a Doctor of Educational Ministry with an emphasis in Leadership and a Master of Religious Education. His undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Business Administration from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. Dr. Martin is employed at Dallas Baptist Association as the Director of Leadership Development.
