Bobby Meeks
Currently, as warden and CEO of a federal correctional institution, Bobby Meeks functions as an advocate for the facility by maintaining positive avenues of communication with representatives of the media, as well as local, state, and federal organizations and members of the community.
As head of a large federal prison, Bobby Meeks works closely with representatives of federal agencies that coordinate immigration, citizenship, and national security, as well as the FBI, the U.S. Marshals, and federal attorneys. He often attends national meetings and conferences regarding the federal prison system.
With oversight for a staff of 280, Mr. Meeks works in a supervisory capacity, dealing with employees regarding personnel matters. He maintains involvement in setting organizational goals, monitoring progress toward those goals, and assessing their impact. Bobby Meeks is well versed in Bureau of Prisons regulations, including those concerned with enforcement of security measures established to protect life and property.
Bobby Meeks holds an undergraduate degree in criminal justice from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. Previously, he earned an associate degree from Elgin Community College. While attending community college, he was a valuable member of the school's men's basketball team, garnering honorable mention honors from the National Junior College Athletic Association.
Mr. Meeks is a member of the National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice. In his time away from work, he enjoys physical activities such as football, basketball, baseball, and jogging. An avid reader, he especially appreciates motivational literature.
