Bobby Torres
Bobby Torres
For the past three decades, Bobby Torres has served as a mentor to leaders, parents and teenagers around the world. Robert is quickly becoming a recognized authority in the behavioral health care industry.
Inspired by the personal example and devoted ministry of three men; David Wilkerson, Nicky Cruz and Sonny Arguinzoni, Robert’s work in reaching at-risk people along with their compassionate regard exceptionally influenced his early development which provided the template for his philosophy of treatment for troubled-people.
On November 1, 2002, Bobby was elected president and CEO of Second Chance, a Christian outpatient treatment clinic. Second Chance was moved to Florida in 2014 and is now doing business as Heart Transformation®.
From there, Heart Transformation Therapy (HTT) was authored by Bobby in order to treat the relationship between hurting parents and their troubled children, teens or dependent young adults. The HTT modality created interventions that were based on biblical principles.
The core idea is for a healthcare professional or caregiver to treat the heart effecting behavioral change resulting in healing emotional problems and restoring mental health. Currently, the most common approach used, is to modify the behavior through a pain and pleasure model. Behavior modification is not producing any significant results. On the contrary, more harm than good is being done. HTT is currently performing random and quasi-experimental testing in order to provide evidence-based outcomes.
In that same year Bobby founded C.A.R.E.S. Treatment which operates a boys and a girls residential treatment facility. C.A.R.E.S. became the first facility to use HTT. It was granted a full 3 year accreditation by Commission on Accreditation for Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). C.A.R.E.S. Treatment is also registered/listed with the Florida Department of Education and in the final process of receiving academic accreditation by Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
