Irish Bobcats

Since 2011, Professor Frederick Lewis has directed a group of students to Letterkenny, Ireland through Ohio University's annual Screenwriting and Documentary Storytelling study abroad program.

This year, 11 students from various majors will learn how to adapt Irish short stories into scripts, meanwhile composing original documentary scripts. These documentaries will cover topics ranging from Irish myths and legends to traditional Irish fiddling.

Students will also have the opportunity to screen a wide range of documentary films, volunteer for the Earagail Arts Festival, visit Dublin and Tory Island, attend the Galway Film Fleadh, take a day trip to Derry, and spend an overnight in Belfast.
