Hey, I’m Bob. I’m a consultant living in Arkansas. I am a fan of entrepreneurship, writing, education, volunteering, and impact investing. Recently I accepted the role of Chief Executive Officer for Metropolis Private Capital Group, a private equity impact investment firm. In my past, I served as a Senior Consultant with James Lee Witt Associates (JLWA), focusing on government relations for private sector companies and business development for JLWA’s emergency management services.

Before joining JLWA, I worked in presidential politics as a deputy campaign manager for Hillary Rodham Clinton. I was responsible for recruiting former political appointees to assist with policy development, fundraising, voter outreach, and surrogate speaking.

Before the 2008 Presidential election, I served as Vice Chairman of the ShoreBank Corporation in Chicago, IL - the first and leading community development bank holding company. At ShoreBank, I chaired and led three of the corporation’s non-profit affiliates around the country.

I was appointed as Under Secretary of Rural & Community Development at the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA.) during the Clinton Administration. Under Secretary of Rural & Community Development at USDA, I managed 12,000 employees and the USDA’s 8 billion dollar housing, electric, telephone, business, and public facility loan and grant programs. I also served as senior advisor to the Secretary of Agriculture on improving the effectiveness of policies and programs impacting the growth and development of rural communities.

From 1995-2001 as Assistant to the President and Director of Presidential Personnel for the White House. I directed the recruitment, nomination, and confirmation of presidential appointees for the last six years of the Clinton Administration.

Before my white house career, I served as Governor Bill Clinton’s senior executive assistant for economic development. I also served as president of the Arkansas Development Finance Authority, a cabinet agency responsible for financing housing, infrastructure, and business development.

I am most proud of my family and my 40-year public service career. I am married to a former presidential diarist and author, Janis F. Kearney, and we have three children (Creshelle, Eric, and Darryl), and three grandchildren (Erica, Sana’a, and Darryl III)
