A resident of Farmington, CT, Bob Osborne has served on the Bristol Police Department for over 10 years, achieving recognition as Police Officer of the Year in 2006. An avid runner, he completed two recent marathons, including the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, D.C., in 2015. Bob Osborne also enjoys running the Farmington, CT, “Rails to Trails” route and frequently runs in Sessions Woods in Burlington.
After graduating high school in Massachusetts, Mr. Osborne completed a criminal justice degree at Tunxis Community College in Connecticut prior to joining the police force. He is currently working toward a degree in criminology at Central Connecticut State University and has a longstanding interest in both foreign affairs and public administration.
An avid sports fan, Mr. Osborne has been following teams such as the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox since childhood. Despite the crushing memory of Bill Buckner’s fielding mishap that cost the Red Sox the pennant in 1986, he remained faithful to his home team. His faith was validated by the long-suffering team’s World Series victory in 2004.
