I'm a third year medical student in NYC. I'm planning on pursuing psychiatry and hope to work with survivors of torture, human trafficking victims and victims of sexual violence in general.

Though this might seem like a dreary career, my clinical experience with this patient population has proved to be an uplifting and enlightening experience. It is a true testament to the human spirit to see individuals move past their trauma and find happiness again.

However my interests extend far beyond medicine. In addition to clinical work, I am interested making an impact on a larger scale at a grassroots level. My "mission statement" in life is to contribute to human flourishing and the common good. How to do that exactly is yet to be determined :).

I am creating this blog so that I can put down my thoughts, explore different interests and hopefully learn something about myself and how I can make a difference in the process.
