Boitumelo Segwana

Student in Johannesburg , South Africa

My name is Boitumelo Debora Segwana, a third-year Bachelor of Education student at the University of Johannesburg, specializing in the Senior Phase and FET, with majors in Business Studies and Physical Education.

My teaching philosophy is rooted in learner-centeredness. I believe in placing learners at the heart of every lesson, creating interactive spaces where diverse opinions are valued. Business Studies, by nature, invites multiple perspectives, and I encourage learners to share their views, ask questions, and connect theory to the practical realities they observe in everyday business operations.

I aspire to be a motivating and supportive teacher who inspires learners to see Business Studies not as a subject to be memorized, but as a discipline that builds skills, nurtures critical thinking, and empowers them to become active participants and entrepreneurs of tomorrow. I emphasize that true understanding is more valuable than rote learning, and that passionate, qualified teachers play a vital role in shaping learners’ minds and futures.

Beyond my passion for teaching, I find great joy in exploring global economies and businesses, constantly learning from how different nations and organizations operate in an interconnected world.
