Growing up in Amsterdam and visiting the home country of my parents The Philippines regularly.

Remembering going to my favourite place Mcdonalds and witnessing something I'd never seen before at night. Lots of small dirty hands coming through the open Jeepney window begging for the food I was eating.

This made such a impact on my worldview, growing up in a safe and abundant environment like The Netherlands that I vowed when I grow up I want to do something for these kids who were less fortunate.

Years passed, I got married to a amazing woman, we started our own Thai restaurants, couple of kids later and rolled into the foodtruck life.

For 2017 I was thinking about a new concept since the world was so obsessed about streetfood and in Amsterdam the multi-culti epicenter of the world. Everything was available. All but 1 thing. Filipino Streetfood.

Me and my brothers have unforgettable encounters with a streetvendor selling simply deepfried Fishballs on a stick.

It works like this: with a pointy wooden stick you skewer the hot still frying fishballs from the pan on a stick, for each ball you have to pay like 50 Philippine cents.

Once you got your skewer you dip them in the most amazing tasting sauces. Sweet or spicy.

These balls where so delicious we kept on skewing balls like they were free but we forgot we didn't have any single peso with us!
