Bonga Nala is a budding comedian, producer and musician who draws all his insight from those around him and his own experiences. He is also a law student which equips him with ample research skills, public speaking experience and abilities, an ability and desire to learn from others in his field and exceptional writing skills.
He goes under the stage name “Bongz”. His comedy is both edgy and lighthearted, ranging anywhere from growing up as a small kid to hot button issues such as race relations and world politics, he manages to find the lighter side to all these issues. He is a natural entertainer and although he has no formal training in stage acting and music, he has performed with some of the most influencial and important names in the comedy industry. He has been doing stand-up fro a year now and has shared the stage with the likes of Ndumiso Lindi, Chris Mapane, David Kibuuka, and young upcoming comics such as Robby Collins, Dillan Oliphant, Eureka Nkese, and Nicholas Goliath.
He has a desire to get into MC’ing corporate functions as he feels this will help his comedy grow and expand his subject matter as corporate functions and comedy clubs have different atmospheres which he wishes to merge. He also feels that this will help him with his content as there are still many things he wishes to address in his stand up, and gaging the interest of different people from different ethnic, social, academic, spiritual, and class backgrounds will give him insight into how to break the barriers between people through mutual understanding given by comedians.
He has performed at the following comedy clubs in the past year;
·Supersport Showbar (Carnival city)
·Bubba J Comedy Bar (Brakpan)
·TUT New Material Wednesday (Tshwane University of Technology)
·Co.fi Brooklyn (Brooklyn, Pretoria)
