Bo Nicholson’s roots in Raleigh, North Carolina, run deep. He grew up there with his two younger brothers, William and Henry. His connection to the city remains a cornerstone of his personal and professional life, influencing his career path and values.

After high school, Bo headed to Athens, Georgia, to attend the University of Georgia, where he earned his degree from the Terry College of Business in 2010. His time at UGA was not limited to academics; his passion for music led him to join the band Mama’s Love. The band toured the Southeast, recording original music in renowned studios like Southern Ground in Atlanta with producer John Keane. Through this experience, he learned key lessons in collaboration, perseverance, and the importance of a shared vision—lessons that continue to inform his work in financial services.

Though Bo eventually shifted away from music as a career, it remains integral to his life. He performs regularly with Steamroom Etiquette, a local cover band in Raleigh, and occasionally reunites with former bandmates for special performances. Music continues to provide him with a creative outlet and personal fulfillment.

In 2012, Bo began his career in financial services by joining Merrill Lynch as a financial advisor. He completed the firm’s Practice Management Development program and started his practice through grassroots methods, including cold calling, door-to-door outreach, and hosting educational seminars. These early experiences shaped his approach to financial advising, emphasizing the importance of building lasting, relationship-based connections with clients.

In 2016, Bo transitioned to Capital Investment Companies, where he partnered with Greg Hicks and Wanda Cooper at Financial Resource Management (FRM). He was drawn to the firm’s client-first culture, which aligned with his values of prioritizing long-term relationships. Since then, he has played a key role in helping FRM grow into a trusted advisory team, serving high-net-worth families and business owners across North Carolina. FRM has expanded to offices in Raleigh, Greensboro, and Atlantic Beach.
