Art has been my passion for a long as I can remember; ever since my mother started me in classes at our local museum when I was four. Since then, I have been engaged in art classes throughout my education and even into my adult life. Art, like a good book, will take you places. It is the expression of an idea. It can also be interpreted in a myriad of ways. While I have become rather skilled in the way of realism, I have begun to prefer creating abstract forms for the purpose of those various interpretations. While I always knew I would find a career in the arts, I have also found a desire to be in education. I consider myself a life-long learner. Ask any of my family or friends and they will tell you I am always asking questions. How else do we learn but by questioning? My favorite thing about teaching art, aside from the satisfaction felt when I've helped a student create a gratifying work of art, is that I can continue to learn and experiment along with the students. They teach me just as much as I teach them.
