Bonnie Smerdon

Everything I learned about people and leadership, I learned on the back of a racehorse. If you can get 1200 pounds of athletic muscle and a mind of his own to do things your way, you know you have the touch...or hands as we say in the business.

As I began to make international horseracing friends, I started to notice a trend. That all of our "selfies" are actually framed by horse ears.

I also began to notice a trend, an understanding among all of my new international friends. A tendency to live life on the edge, stepping out daily in dance between life, death and catastrophe in order to ride the wind and sail across the ground five feet higher than other men.
