Growing up in Amish Country you have two choices, either you stagnate and take what comes or you go out and create your own adventure. At the age of 15, I was not ready to stagnate so I created Not Twisted Just Bent Productions and by the time I was 20, cornered the market on the regional music scene booking shows in the central Pennsylvania area for major label bands while helping many of the small local bands get a start as opening acts.
Not busy enough right out of high school I went to work for a small ISP in the Philadelphia region as a self taught and BBS hardened Network Engineer. we were one of the first sites for testing Cisco modem racks and we grew from 100 users to just over 50,000 before I moved on. I freelanced for the Pennsylvania 911 system creating and implementing an online hospital monitoring network, which allowed first responders to know which trauma wards were over capacity in real time rather than the manual chalkboard and phonecall system they were using before.
The North Carolina Years:
My wife and I decided to start a life in North Carolina so we picked up and moved to Durham where I kept up my glamorous techie/rockband manager lifestyle working for the Orange County and Durham Convention and Visitors Bureau's as a Network Administrator, and also completing a comprehensive upgrade of the computer systems for the UNC Financial Aid offices.
After a few years in NC a fellow PA escapee and I found we both had a strong love for art, together we formed the designer toy manufacturer Wootini. I used my connections in the art and music world, we began producing high quality limited edition art toys, it was a resounding success. We opened our first store in Carrboro. Four years, an expansion and many fun and interesting times later, I decided to take a year off to plot my next move. working 24/7 for 15 years had taken it's toll.
iContact was a small company but they had an aggressive growth plan and a young impressive CEO. My entrepreneurial spirit stoked I set out to work for them. 3 solid years later as an email marketing sales executive, changing market conditions have dictated that we part ways.
I am now employed as a Sales Associate with Argyle Social
