BootLeg Jazz is a music event featuring a series of live jazz performances over 3 consecutive days, Thursday 25, Friday 26 and Saturday 27 April 2013.
Taking place at the Crumblin’ Cookie, High St, Leicester, the line-up of artists for BootLeg Jazz will be drawn from the musical and creative brilliance within the city; added to this will be artists from across the East Midlands and further afield. Collaboration and improvisation are the themes of BootLeg Jazz. The programme of artists will include young emerging talent sharing stages with recognised and established performers.
BootLeg Jazz is the brainchild of a Leicester based partnership consisting of The Crumblin’ Cookie, Citizen’s Eye Community News Agency, Anonymous Arts Management, local artist Mellow Baku, Blood Gallery and The Jazz Shambles radio show who have come together to stage an eclectic programme of jazz related events.
BootLeg Jazz is also supported by Leicester Jazz House which is dedicated to promoting jazz in Leicester. They will be hosting Friday evening’s performances. Regional jazz lovers will know of their long established reputation for programming national and international stars.
As well as 3 days of exciting and exhilarating jazz performances there will be acoustic jazz gigs, jam sessions and open mic slots, specialist DJ sets and vocal workshops.
