Mallorie Boswell
Mallorie Boswell
Names are important. They are the first thing you know about a person. They characterize people. Names give people an identity. When parents try to be unique with names is when they get complicated. Every parent wants their child to have a unique name. My name is Mallorie Boswell and throughout my life my name has been spelled completely wrong. It is sometimes spelled 'Mallory' or 'Malorie' but it never seems to be spelled the correct way. I used to wonder why on Earth my parents would spell my name in such a complicated way. It must be because they were trying to give me a somewhat unique name because Mallorie is a relatively common name. It does get kind of annoying having to spell your name the correct way for someone every time they have to write it down. Plus your name is never on key-chains, shot glasses, mugs, or pencils at the souvenir store, and that is a real bummer. Now that the coke bottles are out it is just one more thing the correct spelling of my name won’t be on. However, I guess sometimes having a name with cool spelling isn’t so bad. It's a unique spelling and I'm a unique person. So hello, nice to meet you, I'm Mallorie with an 'ie'.
