Bowen Sun

When I was seven and growing up in China, I was the lead singer of Tianjin Children’s Chorus and performed in several countries around the world, including South Korea, Singapore and Malaysia. Suddenly, I discovered how big the world was, and the different cultures and perspectives had an impact on me. When I saw the clean and orderly street, looks so different from China, but gave me really nice impression. This experience would inspire me to make travel a life goal. As the movie “Cinema Paradiso” said, “If you don’t walk out, you will think that this is the whole world.” I couldn’t agree more.

After graduated in Northeast Normal University with a bachelor degree in Software Engineering, I find myself in Norway, where I moved for a master’s degree in information systems from Norwegian University of Science and Technology. From 2010, I worked in Cenium related with my major in university, I led a team to negotiate contract with Chinese government. I havesupported and deployment the system to customers in Asia, Canada and Europe.

When I became aware of the huge market for the oil industry in Norway, I joined AkerSolutions as a consultant in the Engineering Systems Department working on applicationintegrations, business intelligence. Then I was promoted to be a project manager for IT large scale projects for three years and got my PMP certification.

Now I am a second year full time MBA student in Mays Business school - Texas A&M University. Time traveling fast, after summer internship with Amazon as a operation manager, I found myself as a future leader in high tech industry.

I am a world traveler and has been to 84 countries so far. Adventure is part of my life and will lead me to the next destination.
