I'm a small town girl who enjoys the more simple things in life. I guess you can say I am an old soul. I'm all for slowing down and enjoying life. This year, I have started to focus on living a more natural, crunchy lifestyle. From what I put in my body to what I put on my body, I've become more aware and it's exhilrating. And even better: I love sharing this new found love of mine w/ other people because we can all learn something from each other! I am also very passionate about running. Another reason for creating my first blog was to document my training for my first ever half marathon this fall. Running just makes me a better person. It frees my mind & gives me the ability to be a stronger women. Growing up, I always thought I was never good at anything - now I can say, hey, i'm pretty good at running. :)

Personal Me

I married my high school sweetheart at 20. I had to quickly 'adapt' to military life.. moving away from family & friends to be with my husband. Then, more than 2 years ago, we got even more out of our comfort zones when we had to move half-way across the world to Okinawa, Japan. My husband is my best friend. I can say he's a real trooper. He's so supportive of my running & lets[sometimes] me talk him into crazy healthy experiments He is my motivation for wanting to be more healthy. I'm an animal lover, but I'm a real cat person. We adapted our girl 2 years ago & she is the love of our life. She's 13 & the sweetest cat i've ever had. I work at a daycare and I love it. I get stressed & crazed but it's really a rewarding job. I love children! if I knew I woudn't go mentally insanse, i'd have like 6 kids. I love to read. & I wish there were more hours in the day so I could read a lot more. I can't always find time to read [running,cleaning the apartment & work consume most of my life] so reading gets on the back burner. I love movies. My husband and I are move-fanatics. There is so much more about me but really.... you'll have to read to find out! :)
