Bozena Chmielewska

Bozena Chmielewska moved to New England from Poland,carrying with her hopes for a brighter future and strong artistic potential and talent.Bozena was born in Olsztyn,Poland.Then in Ostroda,she attended a High School for The Arts,where she was encouraged by her teachers and told that she had great potential.Although pursuing art in wellkown university was her,plan,cirumstances did not allow that to happen as by 1980's,revolution had srung up in Poland.Communist Poland was not a place to start a painting career.Times were tough and she couldn't even afford to buy canvases or paint.Chmielewska father moved to USA to look for better work opportunities and eventually the rest of the family joined him in 1990's.Upon arriving in the US..Bozena work as an ispector in a top factory BTI in Connecticut.My supervisor kept the alfabet in Engilsh on my desk in front of me,I was not able to speak aword in English.I sang the alfabet day in and day out until I fanally memorized it.To make extra mony,Bozena painted portraits for indivduals upon request.TI was not until 2007 that Bozena began really focusing on a career in painting.At the time,she was working as CNA at rehabilitation center and was bedly injured.Unable to continue with hre job she began painting regularly.Bozena said "If only I had come to the US a little bit erlier,and if only I was encourage to focus on my painting immediatly after arriving,things could have been a lot easier for me.I 'm grateful thoug,as it is never too late".Bozena doesn't have one particular style she adheres to,but finds herself inspired by everything around her.She can visualize a painting and what it is going to look like before she even start.She said"I get the inspiration in my head and it just comes right out on the canvas."My ambitions areto display my paintings at an art gallery in Nothampton,then,God help me,at a large ART GALLERY in New York or Boston".Biography of Bozena Chmielewska by Kinana Sarrage.
