Rev br Andrew Blair efo

Maroubra, New South Wales, Australia

Rev Br Andrew Blair EFO I am a religious brother and Priest in the EFO ,on 8th December 2013 the EFO reopened the parish of the Holy Redeemer in Winmalee where I served as deacon until16th September 2015.

My current Parish is the Blue Mountain Franciscan Church where I will remain as deacon until October 3rd. I was Ordained Priest on the Feast of st Francis on the 4th October- the Feast of St Francis, in our Springwood venue at 133 Macquarie Road Springwood NSW 2777

My life's work is in caring for my wife Jessica who lives with many chronic conditions. I hope that in sharing with others I can make a difference. My birth name was Anne, born in England and migrated to Australia in 1966. After finishing work at Prince of Wales Hospital in July 1972 I was married in the Registrar’s office in Sydney. We had two boys, born 1973 and 1975. Living in various places in Sydney and NSW, we settled in Campbelltown where among other things I delivered Junk Mail for a pittance. I used to deliver 400 papers on a Wednesday before teaching Scripture at my son's Primary School in Campbelltown North. In 1989, shortly before a visit to the USA for my sister-in-law's marriage I began a rocky Coming Out period as I examined both sex and gender and finally realized that they did not match up. I waited until the early 90's when at TAFE in Macarthur before acting. Earlier, my Parish Priest had introduced me to Acceptance NSW, a support group for the catholic GLBTI community. I attended there, as a Lesbian, I began cross dressing 24/7 - it was they who dubbed me Andy - the name I took when I began the Transitional Process from Female to Male. Lesbian to male in 3 – 4 years. I met Jessica at the Gender Centre in 1998 and we made our commitment to each other at the Way Side Chapel in Potts Point, on 21st August 1999. As mentioned elsewhere here, I was legally Male by February 2002 and we were Married according to Church and Law in May 2003. 31st May 2003. Currently we live in Maroubra.

We enjoy Acrylic Painting Classes at the Coast Centre for Seniors and I have recently taken up Wood Turning at the Shed at Kooloora Neighbourhood Centre. I am knitting teddy Skins for the Red Cross.
