Brad Trammell
Network Engineer, Technology Leader, and Systems & Operations in Valdosta, GA USA
I’m a technology professional, infrastructure operator, and business owner based in Valdosta, Georgia, with extensive hands-on experience designing, managing, troubleshooting, and modernizing technology environments.
My background spans IT leadership, systems administration, networking, server infrastructure, hosting, cybersecurity, telecommunications, cloud and on-premises platforms, web systems, automation, and technical operations. I’ve worked with technology in environments where reliability matters—from businesses and schools to public safety, healthcare, industrial operations, and government.
Before relocating to South Georgia, I served as Director of Information Technology for the Cicero Fire District in New York. In that role, IT operated as its own function and I worked directly with organizational leadership while remaining deeply involved in the technical work itself. That experience strengthened an approach I still follow today: understand the technology at the ground level, build systems that are practical and maintainable, and never ask a team to do work I’m unwilling to do myself.
Today, I’m involved in several technology and media ventures, including Spark Rack, Beyond Nerd, and Grand Bay Collective. My work ranges from hosting infrastructure and software platforms to business technology, networking, communications, automation, and the development of systems intended to simplify complicated technical operations.
I’m particularly interested in infrastructure modernization, municipal and public-sector technology, systems architecture, cybersecurity, networking, self-hosted platforms, automation, and building technology organizations that are both technically capable and accountable to the people they serve.
I’m a hands-on technology leader by nature. I’m comfortable developing strategy and managing projects, budgets, vendors, systems, and people—but I’m equally comfortable in a server room, troubleshooting a network, deploying infrastructure, examining logs, writing automation, or working directly alongside the people responsible for keeping systems running.
I believe strong IT organizations are built around competence, documentation, security, resilience, and good judgment—not unnecessary complexity. Technology should solve problems, improve operations, and make people’s jobs easier.
