I was born in south Texas and grew up there and Vicksburg, Mississippi. Early in my college years I switched from engineering, my families profession, to architecture. Working my way through college waiting tables, doing construction and spending many hours drafting house plans I graduated from Mississippi State with a BS in Architecture in 1990.

I was fortunate to begin work immediately with a high-end Hotel and Hospitality Interior Architecture firm in Dallas. This was excellent experience and consisted of interior designing of hotel lobbies, restaurants, bars, guest rooms and suites. Along with these services we handled all furnishings, finishes, fixtures, fabrics, lighting and electrical. Assigned to projects in Asia-Pacific rim I was willingly transferred within the firm to Singapore to help open a branch office. It was an amazing life changing experience to live and work in Singapore. After one year overseas I returned to Dallas to begin designing residents on my own. This was professionally successful however lonely after four years working mostly solo. Through connections I then took a job in Atlanta with Kenneth Lynch and Associates, residential architects. Wonderful home projects and lake homes in the nearby mountains too. My portfolio was continuing to grow.

At this point my personal yoga practice took me to a teacher in Florida. There I continued residential design and some construction until I began working for Italbec. Under this assignment I was a project manager of stone and granite installation for hotels and commercial projects.
