Brad Asay

Teacher and President AFT Utah in Clinton, Utah

Back my campaign

Brad is a resident of Clinton, Utah. He has been involved in public education for 24 years. His career began as a classified employee in the Davis County School District. After graduating college, he began his career in the Ogden City School District as a jr. high school art and history teacher. He has been serving as the president of the American Federation of Teachers of Utah since May of 2013.

Brad is uniquely qualified to serve as a member of the Utah State Board of Education because of his years of experience in public education. He has worked as a maintenance worker, custodian, classroom teacher, and adjunct professor. As President of AFT Utah, he lobbies at the Utah Legislature, serves on executive boards and coalitions, serves employees across the state in K-12 public schools and higher education institutions, and has extensively traveled throughout the United States meeting with educational leaders. Brad has served in many leadership positions in his local church, political organizations, and is actively involved in his community.

Brad's passion is education. His priority is Utah students and those that work with them on a daily basis. His service is not an attempt to move up the political ladder. He simply wants public education in Utah to succeed.
