Bradley Barrett
As a professional conductor and artistic director, Bradley Barrett's work has taken him across the United States for performances. Since 2009, he has been a conductor-in-residence for Honor Choir USA and has completed residencies in Grove, Oklahoma, and Honolulu, Hawaii. Bradley Barrett is also involved with Chorale Midwest and the Chorale Midwest Chamber Singers, based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Bradley Barrett launched his career in music at Southwest Missouri State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Music Education with a focus on vocal music education. Following his graduation, he spent 16 years working as a Director of Choral Activities, first in the Conway Public School District in Missouri and later for Logan-Rogersville Public Schools in Rogersville, Missouri.
In 1999, Bradley Barrett earned his Master of Music from Southwest Missouri State University, emphasizing choral conducting. In the same year, he moved to Tucson, Arizona, to become the Director of Music at St. Mark's United Methodist Church. At the same time, he enrolled at the University of Arizona at Tucson and began pursuing his Doctor of Music Arts, which he earned in 2003. While studying at the university, Barrett also served as a graduate teaching assistant.
In 2002, Bradley Barrett relocated to Iowa to serve as Assistant Professor of Choral Conducting and Music Education with the University of Northern Iowa. Today, Barrett continues to work with Chorale Midwest, Chorale Midwest Chamber Singers, and Honor Choir USA. He lives in Lebanon, Missouri. Outside of work, he enjoys raising show horses, including Percheron draft horses and Tennessee walking horses.
