As the lead contracting officer for the Federal Emergency Management Agency Region 5, I am responsible for providing contracting support for disaster and non disaster contracting needs. In addition, I am the team leader for the regional contracting staff as well as deployed contracting personnel in the event of a declared disaster. I manage the work load of the staff and ensure contracting compliance is being followed.

I began my government contracting career as a contracting officer at General Services Administration/Federal Acquisition Services (GSA/FAS) within the Acquisition Operations Division (AOD) for seven and a half years. I possess a Level III Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting (FAC-C) from the Federal Acquisition Institute and a Master’s Certificate in Government Contracting from George Washington University. During my tenure at GSA, I held an unlimited warrant authority.

In my spare time, I volunteer in community service based events with the Metropolitan Board of The Chicago Urban League. Also, I serve as a mentor with the Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT) program at the National Black MBA Association.
