Brad Whitt
Donald Brad Whitt has served as the Senior Pastor of the Temple Baptist Church in Simpsonville, South Carolina, since 2001. Brad Whitt's ministry is marked by dynamic, expository preaching, Biblical disciple-making, and evangelism. Prior to accepting the call to Temple Baptist Church, Pastor Whitt served churches in Tennessee and Ohio. His first pastorate was at the Gateway Baptist Church in Atoka, Tennessee. While there, Pastor Brad led the church to increase from an initial 35 people to over 240 in attendance. During his three years as pastor at Gateway, more than 150 people came to know Christ and were baptized. He also led in the construction of a 16,000 square-foot Family Worship Center. He then moved to the Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee, to work with college students under the leadership of Dr. Adrian Rogers. Pastor Whitt was then asked by Bellevue to help plant a new church in Columbus, Ohio. With the sponsorship and support of Bellevue Baptist Church, as well as churches across the nation, Pastor Whitt led in the launch of the North Metro Church, A Southern Baptist Fellowship. North Metro launched on Easter Sunday in 2000 and quickly became the fastest-growing intentional church start in the State Convention of Baptists in Ohio. Throughout his ministry, Brad Whitt has brought his energetic, relational, evangelistic, disciple-making ministry to churches in the U.S. as well as churches in Latin America, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East.
Donald Brad Whitt graduated from Union University, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in History and Religion with a Minor in Political Science. Pastor Whitt went on to earn a Master of Divinity at the Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary. After completing his Master of Divinity degree in 2001, he was accepted into the Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he earned a Doctor of Ministry in Expository Preaching.
