Brandelyn is the author of four books; Everybody Plays the Fool, a novel; Spoken Silence: Life in Four Parts, a volume of poetry; and her latest novel U.G.L.Y., which is in the early stages of being adapted into a film. Her fourth book, dreams are not concerned, a volume of poetry was released in June 2011 and was nominated for the Editor's Choice Award through iUniverse publishing. She is also a contributing author in the Gumbo for the Soul Anthology, the “When I was There…” UC Berkeley Anthology project, the Young Writers Block Literary community, Collected Young Minds collective, Leather Magazine, Vapors Magazine and Empress Magazine.
Brandelyn has appeared on national television and radio programming including the CBS channel 5 Morning Show, Bay Sunday, and Cougar Chat Radio. She has also served as the keynote speaker for a variety of events including the Women's History Celebration at the Oakland African Museum of Art; alumni, literary and black history month programming at the University of California Berkeley, Michigan University, and several community colleges, high schools and secondary schools throughout the country.
Brandelyn is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated currently resides in Washington, DC where she is working on her new novel, tentatively titled, "the definition of logan."
